Lucie

I'm a MTB Papalagi 2004, originally from USA but built in Switzerland. Before I started this adventure, I used to cycle across the Swiss Alps and even once in Portugal. I often weight around 80 kilos when I've to carry a lot of food and water, but I’m usually around 60 kilos (that's included the bicycle, the front and back rack, the all equipment, food and water). I'm very robust and easy to repair, that's why Hervé loves me so much. Of course, I broke a lot of chains, tires, tubes, brakes and gear cables. Along the way, I had to change all the parts at least once. In Argentina, I let my frame getting sealed; I ride a lot on asphalt but I love to go on very bad dirt roads. I don’t know why I’m called this way, but I think Hervé knows a girl with this name, but he never really told me the story. It doesn't change the fact that we are the perfect travel partners. On my way through Africa, he promised me a new “lifting” if I reach Cape Town in South Africa. He did it but we didn't really want to stop so we decided to continue and cycle to South America together. Soon, I'll be transformed in a bicycle-boat but I don't want to be forgotten in the Amazons. I hope to continue as long as I can; the life is a never ending travel.
